Privacy policy

Hi, I'm Chubby. This page explains, in plain English, what we do with your data when you use Little Chubby Press. No fine print, no tricks. If anything feels off, email me at hello@littlechubbypress.com and we'll sort it.

10-second summary: we only keep what the app needs to work, we don't sell anything to anyone, we don't track you across the web, and you can download or delete all your info from your profile any time.

1. What we keep about you

What you give us:

  • Your email and password when you sign up.
  • Anything you add to your profile: name, photo, language.
  • Postal address or phone only if you win a physical prize.
  • Your reviews, book photos, rating, and any messages you send us.
  • If you join the newsletter: email, name, language.
  • If you use ticket gifts: recipient email, quantity, and invitation status.

What gets logged automatically as you use the app:

  • Your daily streak, peanuts and tickets earned, downloads, badges.
  • Pages you visit, anonymous and aggregated (we can't tell one family from another).
  • A few security timestamps (logins, failed attempts).

What we do NOT do:

  • No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no similar trackers.
  • We do not record your mouse or your screen.
  • We do not sell or rent your data to advertisers.
  • No card processing: inside the app you never pay money, just "peanuts" you earn for free.

2. Why we keep it

  • So you can sign in and see your profile.
  • So we can publish your reviews and count your peanuts/tickets.
  • To send the essential emails (account confirmation, giveaway winner notice).
  • To deliver gifted tickets, notify the recipient, and refund gifts if they expire.
  • To send the newsletter only if you subscribe (one-click unsubscribe, always).
  • To moderate photos before they hit the public gallery and keep the place safe.
  • To understand which content lands (aggregate numbers, never person by person).

Legal basis: the contract of providing the service you signed up for, your consent for the optional bits (newsletter), and our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure.

3. Who we work with

We're a tiny team. To run the app we use trusted providers for hosting, database, email sending and fonts. All of them sign agreements that forbid using your data for their own purposes. Want the full list with their policies? Email us and we'll send it over.

Links to Amazon, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky or Pinterest are "exit doors": once you click, you're on their site and their policy applies.

4. Cookies (the digital kind, not the chocolate ones)

We only use the essential ones to keep you signed in. They last a few days and clear when you log out. We also save small things in your browser like the language you picked or your cookie-banner answer — they stay on your device and never travel to anyone.

We do NOT use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

5. What you post in the gallery

When you submit a review with a photo and we approve it, it goes to the public gallery with your display name and your badges. That's the whole point of the community. We never show your email, postal address, phone number or peanut balance. You can always:

  • Edit or delete your review from your profile.
  • Opt out of the monthly leaderboard.
  • Change your display name or avatar.

6. The little ones

Little Chubby Press is built for adults (parents, grandparents, guardians, aunties, uncles) who want to share books with their kids. Accounts are managed by an adult 18+, and we ask you to confirm that when you sign up.

We never ask for the kid's name, age, or any of their data. If your little one helps you color a review photo, please don't upload anything that identifies them (faces, names, school gear). If we think a review reveals a child's info, we take it down.

7. Your rights

You have the right to (and we make it easy):

  • Download everything we have about you — button in your profile, "Privacy & data" section.
  • Delete your account and everything linked to it — same place, red zone. It's immediate.
  • Correct anything that's wrong.
  • Object to certain processing or restrict it.
  • Withdraw newsletter consent any time (one-click unsubscribe in every email).
  • If you live in the EU, file a complaint with your country's data protection authority.

8. How long we keep your data

  • While your account is open: everything the service needs.
  • If you delete your account: your profile, reviews, photos and balances vanish immediately from the app; backup copies are purged within a maximum of 30 days. We keep only aggregated anonymous stats and any technical logs the law requires.
  • Ticket invitations: kept as part of the economy history; we do not use those emails for newsletters unless the person subscribes.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we only keep a flag so we remember not to email you again.

9. Security and countries

We encrypt the connection (HTTPS), protect accounts with best practices, and moderate photos by hand before publishing. Our providers may process your data outside your country (e.g. in the EU or US) always with recognized legal safeguards.

10. Changes and contact

We review this page every 2 weeks while the app grows. If something meaningful changes, we notify you by email or with an in-app banner. Your go-to inbox: hello@littlechubbypress.com.
