Did You Know? Saturn Could Float in a Giant Bathtub!
Saturn is less dense than water — if you had a bathtub big enough, it would actually float!
Saturn Could Float in Water! 🪐
This is one of the most mind-blowing space facts: Saturn is so light for its size that it would float in water!
Even though Saturn is the second-largest planet (764 Earths could fit inside!), it’s mostly made of hydrogen and helium gas. This makes it less dense than water — about 0.687 g/cm³ compared to water’s 1 g/cm³. Of course, you’d need a bathtub about 75,000 miles wide!
Silly Space Art 🎨
Draw Saturn sitting in a giant bathtub with its rings poking out! Ask your kids: “What other silly things would you put in a space-sized bathtub?”
Fun fact bonus: Saturn’s rings are incredibly thin — if Saturn were as big as a gymnasium, its rings would be thinner than a sheet of paper! 📄
